I was thinking of using double sided tape and sticking up some egg crate mattress foam that you can buy cheap at walmart and shove some thick pillows up on the window sill along with curtains. i have solid wood floors with padding and carpet so i think im good there what do you guys think i can do that is relatively cheap.
I know this might be stupid, but I’m disabled, permanently, from lifting patients, collapsed 2 disks, had surgery, didn’t work, now my mattress has sink holes, I put 2 egg crate foams to pad it, it still causes me severe pain to sleep in it. I can’t afford a pillowtop mattress, heck, I’m 40 & never owned any new furniture, all hammydowns, which i was glad to get. but this, I can’t sleep in any more. since I’m now on social security, a whole $700 a month, I can’t save a nickel. Does anyone know of a program or charity that would help me? I’ve never asked for anything, but I’m desperate now, any advice would be helpful
My window is at LEAST 42″ tall if not over 48″. These units are 20 – 25″ tall. Horizontal units (normal units) have accordian style flaps that extend to account for the width of the window.
The vertical A/C units do not have an extending “flap” to cover the remainder of the window that is exposes the room to the elements.
I realize that buying a mattress “egg crate” foam pad and cutting it up could solve my problem, but this window faces the street. A big yellow mess in the window would look GREAT!

Every morning, I wake up with a horribly aching back, and I know it’s because of the cheap, hard as a brick mattress that came with my apartment. I don’t have the money to buy a new mattress, and I already have an egg crate pad and a mattress pad on there. I’ve tried sleeping with a pillow between my legs, but that doesn’t help, either. Is there anything else that I can do?
I am moving away and living in Orlando ( for the disney college program) and i need to get a mattress pad, i have no idea what to get or what’s a good type to get i never got one before in my life…. any tips or brands that are good i like more soft type of mattress. is it best to get one that fits to the mattress or a egg crate type…please help
My son was in the PICU for a month and they had him laying on this egg crate looking pad with side bumpers and we got to bring it home with us. He really loves it but now its all gross from spit up and all and he will out grow it soon. Does anyone know what I’m talking about and/or where to buy one online? I’ve been searching google and can’t seem to find it. I could have swore I saw the name “NeoCrate” on the package, but that doesn’t bring up any hits.
I do a small amount of voice-over and commercial recording from my home studio. I don’t have the money to build a “real” recording booth with “real” acoustic foam, but I want to try and improve my current set-up. I am using cheap “egg crate” style mattress pads to line the walls of a 3′x6′ closet that will serve as my voice-over recording booth. I would like to paint the foam if I can, but regular spray paint just melts it.

Does the memory foam go on top or the egg crate part? And if it’s not the egg crate that goes on top how does it even work then?? And do you put it on top of your mattress pad or underneath
Queen size. I have a new 3.1 size front load wash machine, but I’m not sure if I should try it. I’ve been using it under a mattress pad for about a year and havn’t yet washed it.
I’ve been thinking of getting one of these to put on my mattress (under my sheets) to help me sleep.
Will these just end up becoming a haven for dust mites?
