The Waterproof mattress from Restcare is covered in a water resistant PVC cover with two waterproof high density Saturn Pads protecting the robust 13 Gauge Open Coil Spring unit.

The mattress also contains 2 x 270g Dacron pads. Dacron is a condensation polymer and its properties include high tensile strength, high resistance to stretching, both wet and dry, and good resistance to degradation by chemical bleaches and to abrasion.

The coils within the open coil spring unit are all assembled into a single construction with spiral wire, a thinner, circular wire that joins the coils at top and bottom to form several rows. An outer rod fits around the top and bottom of the finished construction to provide additional strength. Once the basic construction is completed, the mattress can be filled with various fabric layers to provide you with comfort as well as support.
