Recommendations For Egg Crate Or Other Foam Mattress Pad?

I’m looking to buy some sort of mattress topper for a full sized futon. Does anyone have experience with and/or know of where I can pick up a good foam mattress pad? I’ve heard egg crates are good. And hear some people have had bad experiences with memory foam (ie it indents and doesn’t go back into its form etc). Thank you!

I would recomment memory foam. Very comfortable! With egg crates they are not smooth so it can be uncomfortable. The cheapest place that I would recommend for them would be overstock.com. I have ordered from them before and I have nothing but good experiences. Also, they are the cheapest place to get a QUALITY mattress pad.
I’ve had a memory foam pad for over a year now and it’s been pretty good (bought at Sam’s Club) comfortable and no problems so far …
I’ve had the egg crates, I wouldn’t recommend them, they are pretty lumpy/bumpy but that’s not what bothered me the most … they’re really hot to sleep on … I found that it seemed to hold body heat way too much ..,. sweaty feeling in the morning and it just wasn’t good … but I did have one for years (mostly during the winter I would put it on) and that was long before the memory foam items were available. They are a bit cheaper but I found the mem foam is more comfortable … I only have a 2″ and I wish I had gotten the 4″ but my husband doesn’t like the cushy feel all that much. So it depends on your plush factor too.
